What is a web hosting?
It is a service provided by a vendor to host web sites. Web hosts are the companies that provide the space on the internet (for storing video, image and any kind of information). Usually web hosts have data centers with a lot of high speed internet computers connected by fiber optics connectivity.
Types of hosting

- Virtual dedicated server. That means that the user can access his own virtual space. Users might think that they have their own server, but actually they are sharing the server with many others.
- Colocation hosting. It is similar to dedicating hosting, but is one of the most expensive hosting. The user has his colo server and is offered a space that he takes care of.
- Managed hosting service. It is not an owned server but a leased one. The user is given his server, but is not allowed to fully control it. This is very safe because the provider will make sure that everything works fine and no configuration changes will be made.
